I planned a big group camping weekend for my Adventure Guides crew at River Bend Resort in late October 2025 (about 100 dads and kids total) and let me tell you, George, Michelle Evan and Mark absolutely *rolled out the red carpet* for us. I reached out in August (short notice for a fall weekend that size), and they not only made it happen but did it flawlessly and at a discounted group rate to make it affordable for our young familes. From the moment we arrived, everything just clicked. The cabins were spotless, cozy, and surprisingly spacious - we had anywhere from 2-5 people in each, and everyone was comfortable. The canvas tents held up beautifully, even through a night of heavy rain... warm, dry, and cozy the whole time. What really sets River Bend apart from the other “Googleable” campgrounds in the area is its intimacy and natural beauty. It’s tucked into the redwoods along a stunning stretch on the Russian River - peaceful, personal, and picturesque - without the noise, crowds, or chaos you get at the bigger, more commercial sites nearby. You can feel the pride and care that George and Michelle (the owners) put into every inch of the property; it’s clear they love this place and the guests they host. The staff went *above and beyond* for our kids (tractor rides, outdoor movies, opening up large indoor areas during the rain etc.) and somehow balanced giving us space to do our thing while always being there when we needed something. They delivered firewood to our sites, brought out electric pumps for our rafts, and made sure every little detail was covered. Even ordering food to the campsite was easy and having the Russian River Pub next door wasn't too shabby either ;) and having playgrounds, an arcade, and wide open areas gave the dads peace of mind knowing the kids could roam safely. It also was nice that the RV park is on the completely other side of the property, so camping/RV are mutually exclusive giving the camping space a GREAT vibe. Every site had its own firepit, the decorations were charming, the facilities were spotless, and the vibe was just perfect... laid-back, family-friendly, and full of heart. Our crew couldn’t stop raving about how easy and fun the weekend was, and honestly, I can’t think of a single thing that could’ve gone better. River Bend Resort is a hidden gem - a beautiful, well-run, *intimate* slice of redwood heaven on the river. We’re already planning to make this an annual trip. Massive thanks to the whole team for making lifelong fans out of all of us. 10/10. Can’t recommend RBR enough!Posted on LA LATrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This place was fantastic! It's like being at summer camp. The river is so beautiful and clean. The kids crafts kept my kids so entertained and it was just so great to unplug from the world for a few days. It's not even a far drive but it feels like a different world. I will for sure go back. Heaven on Earth.Posted on nomuna nomuTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Nice place with lots of things to too. Most of the tents are under the shady so when it gets hot shade will save your day.Posted on Nate JacobsenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My wife and I have been living at Rivers Bend Resort in our 5th wheel for the past year (long term resident), and we couldn’t be more grateful for the experience. Whether you’re looking for a short camping trip or a long-term stay like we were, this place is an absolute gem. The location is peaceful, beautiful, and perfectly situated along the river — ideal for relaxing, fishing, or just enjoying nature. The grounds are well-maintained, with clean facilities and a welcoming atmosphere that truly feels like home. What makes this resort stand out even more is the incredible family that owns it. They’ve been nothing but kind, responsive, and genuinely great people to interact with. That goes for every employee we've met also — friendly, professional, and always willing to help. We’ve stayed at a number of long term RV locations over the years, and this one is hands-down our favorite. If you're considering a stay here, it's highly recommended. Whether you're just passing through or looking for a more permanent spot, you'll find everything you need.Posted on Teresa DelanoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The women’s restroom were super clean. The spaces are convenient and the river is close. Our women’s retreat was amazing and the location is perfectPosted on Derek WoodworthTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My daughter and I took a spontaneous weekday trip to River Bend Resort on the Russian River, planning to stay for just a night or two. We ended up extending our stay to a full week—and we’re so glad we did. Despite the campground being fully booked, the staff worked with us to find available spots each night, and we moved around a few times without issue. For the last two nights, we stayed in one of their glamping cabins, which was a perfect mix of comfort and outdoor charm. What really stood out was the level of care we received from the manager, Evan. He went out of his way to make sure we were accommodated throughout the week, and more importantly, made sure my daughter had the best camping trip of her life. His kindness and attention made all the difference. River Bend is more than just a place to stay—it’s a place where people genuinely care about your experience. We’ll definitely be coming back.Posted on Kat MarTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great experience with the family! Part of our group stayed in a group tent site and part in The Outpost Cabin. Everything was perfect. The attention to detail really takes this place to the next level. Beautiful location, great laidback summer camp vibe, helpful friendly staff, clean facilities, hot showers,Private river access, retro game room, ping-pong, pool table air hockey, play structure and a treehouse!! The Mercantile to grab some merch and a drink. I can't recommend this place enough.Posted on maritza ramirez-dominguezTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Riverbend RV – Forestville, CA Stayed with a 37-ft fifth wheel. The area is beautiful, people are very nice but the campground needs major improvements. The route we were directed through was extremely tight with overgrown trees that hit our trailer. We later found out there was a better way in, but it wasn’t offered—even when we asked the young lady guiding us in .. later we asked the owner and she politely said we could you the alternative way out .. The RV sites are tight, overgrown, and not truly “river view” as advertised. The section feels run-down with many full-time residents, and the exit is unsafe—uphill onto a fast road with no warning signs. They really need to reconsider updating the RV area to reflect the nicer parts of the resort shown on social media. For the price we paid I was truly expecting what I saw on social media being were I was staying .. Until then, we wouldn’t return..
Posted on Renesha W.Verified We have been to River Bend twice in the last few months and each time was simply amazing. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The bathrooms were very clean as well. I can't wait to come back!Posted on Camille G.Verified Our family decided to do our annual family camping trip at River Bend this year it was about 40 of us and we had such a great time. Evan was awesome from the time we arrived until we left he even help us set up our tent and got it done in minutes when we were trying for almost 2hrs!! The restrooms were very clean and stayed clean the whole time we were there. I finally got to meet the lady that made sure they stayed clean her name was Yose!! Thanks again we will definitely be back next year!!Posted on Kristin F.Verified Great camping experience. Parker was really helpful with check in and getting our firewood.Posted on Cindy M.Verified 5 stars customer service 5 stars amenities 5 stars cleanliness Looking for a family friendly place to camp this place is amazing. Every single time we come it gets better and better. We stayed in Fisher camp 18 person bunkhouse. We did not expect it to be this big. The pictures on the website don't do it justice in person. It's a lot more beautiful and big. They offer a lot of great amenities. Beach and river access very clean staff very friendly, respectful and helpful.Posted on Jennifer B.Verified Just stayed there over the weekend with 200 other women. With that many women you would expect the bathrooms to be out of toilet paper, and paper towels all the time but not one time did that happen! The woman cleaning the bathrooms did a spectacular job of keeping those bathrooms clean, stocked, and open! I commend her for all her hard work and we were lucky to have her there! Thank you!!!Posted on Marie R.Verified I attended a womens retreat over the weekend with 200+ women. The facility is in a perfect location and the tidiness of the park is top tier. The bathrooms especially are kept in great condition for the whole weekend.Posted on Mary S.Verified The place is very clean. Especially the rest rooms. This place is especially geared for family and has a lot of children's activitiesPosted on Lisa M.Verified Such a great place to camp, on the river, with family or friend's. Big shout out to the friendly staff, making sure everyone is taken care of, with Firewood. Also, hats off to Yolie, she-keeps the showers and restrooms extra clean. This is a great place, for RV, tent and or cabin camping. No complaints!Posted on Stacy F.Verified Had an awesome experience here. The water is a close walk. The grounds are well maintained. Plenty of amenities. Staff is great and very friendly. The bathrooms were well maintained and very clean. Remaining clean and fully stocked the whole time I camped. By far the best bathrooms at any campground I have been too! Overall I would highly recommend coming here.Posted on Leah W.Verified We were excited to visit Riverbend RV. We were drawn by its location in beautiful Forestville, but unfortunately, our stay didn't live up to expectations. Pros: * The Forestville area is peaceful and scenic. * Check-in was smooth, and a young staff member escorted us to our site via golf cart. * Staff was friendly and polite throughout our stay. Cons: * Entry: Traveling thru the park on arrival was very tight. Luckily we were escorted by the staff to our site. Our 37-ft fifth wheel was scraped by untrimmed trees and the parks narrow roads made it stressful getting to our spot. * Hazardous Exit: Leaving the park is just as dangerous. The steep hill leads directly onto a fast, two-lane road with a blind curve. There are no warning signs for oncoming traffic, making it feel very unsafe with a heavy RV. * Misleading "River View" Claims: The RV sites are promoted as river view, but from the site we were in T1 you could barely see the river because of overgrown vegetation. We chose this site for its location. On the map it showed an open area for us to hang out with our friends, who had the site next to us. There was no open area and there was NO WAY our rig would fit in the spot. The owner/manager ended up having us stay in the tent site next to us. One of the staff ended up parking our rig since our site was so tight. * Poor Park Maintenance: The RV section feels neglected. Grass and shrubs are overgrown, and the sites are extremely cramped with no privacy. * Lack of Consistency: The resort's social media focuses on the well-maintained cabins and activity areas, which don't reflect the reality of the RV section. * Very Expensive for What You Get: For the price we paid, we expected to be staying in the picturesque, well-maintained areas shown online. Instead, the RV section felt like an afterthought--far from the quality advertised and located away from the nicer areas. We feel like their park map was very misleading. * Permanent Residents Mixed In: A number of full-time residents make the area feel less like a vacation destination and more like a trailer park. It would help if the resort created a designated section for long-term stays and improved the appearance and upkeep of the daily sites. Sadly we won't be planning any returns to this park .. unless an overhaul of the RV spaces happens.
Posted on Discover58701855481Verified Thumbs up to our Stay at River Bend Resort We enjoyed our stay at River Bend resort. We stayed in a Cabin Tent (CC section), which was spacious, comfortable, and clean. The washrooms were cleaned multiple times a day, so they were surprisingly clean for a busy campground. The general store is well stocked for anything you might have forgotten. All staff were super friendly, giving the vibe of a family-owned business that cares about its visitors/customers. It's an easy walk down to the river where the resort has a private beach. All around fun time. Highly recommend.Posted on Mac AVerified Great spot!! I had a blast at River Bend! The staff was all super friendly and the cabins were clean and cozy. This is a great place for families and the kids activities the camp hosts organized on Saturday night was a hit for my family. The beach was a close walk from our site and a highlight of my trip. The general store has everything you need too just in case you forget something on your trip. Definitely will be coming back in the future!Posted on CalVerified Expensive and Crowded The location is excellent for playing in the Russian River. There's a very cool restaurant a stone's throw away. However, the park is incredibly crowded and very expensive. As an overnight stop, it makes no sense unless you can't find anything else. It is very out of the way.Posted on Bark MVerified Crowded and Not quiet Attended a wedding in a nearby home and with all areas hotels $350+/night we thought, let's go camping. We stayed 4 nights. Very clean facilities, clean showers and friendly staff and has a well stocked general store. Firewood for sale is a plus. We stayed in a tent space that was quite small and nothing but dust. Don't drop anything or its covered in dirt. Campers on both sides woo-hoo'd well past 10 pm quiet hours and are back at it very early in the morning. Screaming kids and barking dogs. Ugh. For a congested, cramped party atmosphere, this is the place. Don't expect quiet times. The beach is nice-- mostly river rock and gravel. Bring your own shade. Adjacent Pub so-so with uninspiring waitstaff-- like it's too much of a bother. Down river check out Stumptown Brewery, very nice.Posted on nanaandgpabuschVerified Great park on the Russian River Super clean and friendly park on the Russian River. Short walk through the beautiful campground to the private beach on the Russian River where you can swim, paddle board, float down the river or kayak. Lots of activities for the kids to do throughout the park. If you arrive later in the afternoon and don’t want to cook dinner you can walk next door to RR Pub and grab a bite to eat good food. We stayed in spots R13, R14 and R15 plenty of room for our 38’ and 34’ toy boxes. Willl definitely plan another family trip therePosted on Trek16623948868Verified Awesome visit to Russian River! We were fortunate to book the Lumberjack Cabin with our family and it did not disappoint! It was cozy and comfortable and definitely checked all the boxes for a relaxing family weekend. The beach was beautiful though not officially open yet so we had it all to ourselves. The kids fished and we laid out in the sun. The beach and river has some rocks so best to wear water socks or swim shoes. We ate in Forestville and had an unexpected amazing Italian dinner at Canneti Roadhouse. Highly recommend. The house had everything we needed to cook a nice family dinner the next night. Beds, blankets - everything was incredibly comfortable. Kids also enjoyed all the board games but mostly loved just wandering the grounds. A great, restful visit!Posted on nestorjwVerified Great camping/Glamping in a very cool location I had been here years ago, it was always very nice...but I was amazed to come back and see how great this park really is. We stayed a weekend with a bunch of friends, renting the Canoe cabins...which are very nice canvas tent cabins...with beds and even a heated mattress pad. We had rain one night and we were totally dry and toasty. They have a great arcade that our kids loved, and the staff (and owners who were there) really went above and beyond to make it a fantastic stay. We already booked another weekend for our kids baseball team, cant wait to go back.Posted on Astro UVerified Camping on the Russian River This is the cutest place to stay and was a surprise because it was less than 2 hrs drive from San Francisco! The General Store is a huge perk - we forgot toothbrushes and toothpaste and batteries - they had it all. We woke up and fished in the river early, then swam in the river later in the morning, then watched the sunset from the beach later in the evening. Basically the whole day on the river and the kids couldn’t get enough. Bathrooms were constantly cleaned and staff are the nicest, warmest people. The grounds are well maintained and it never ever felt crowded. Can’t wait to go back!Posted on PeteVerified Overpriced Highly overrated and overpriced. Noise from River Rd is loud and kept us up. The place can use a cleaning and up grade. They refused to honor our Good Sam membership discount. Cassini ranch is down the road and a much better location and campgroundPosted on CG91Verified BEWARE At first I was excited I found this place. Unfortunately due to the fires the roadway to the resort was shut down closing the facility the day before we were leaving for our camping trip. I made contact with the owner (Michelle) inquiring about a refund. Michelle told me I would be charged a 50.00 dollar cancellation fee and offered me a credit instead. UMMMM, WHAT?! I was shocked. I had to clarify. So your'e telling me I will be charged because YOUR FACILITY is unable to accommodate my reservation? I ate the 50.00 bucks and took my 300.00 back. A facility that operates in this manner does not deserve my business. BEWARE.
